I jst finished my 6 weeks intensive army training...its was great i was fit and really lad to be in the army....well i've missed alot for the past few mnths i suppose..My sister jst went to UK miss her..I miss u guys too....lucky kami ada cuti raya for 5 days..starting wednesday next week..

hehehe the best part in that intensive training aku pigang M16 banar2 yo..best eh dapt timbak...gonna do it again sampai ku retire jadi army ani kali...heheheh best eh ...well im not gonna be long hv to prepare stuff untuk melapor 2molow...ok then i';; C u guys soon...Happy Raya and Posa...

Final Interview has Ended Now the Pain of waiting

Here i am in Cyber Thopia jst got back frm melapor d Bolkiah Garrison..Suspen bah tought the interview results is already out tadi..Kajar2 kami 9 of us tadi..The final interview was on last tuesday..There i met Pehin Halbi and all the commanding officers that interviewed us...I was the 1st on the list to be interviewed gila nervous ku berabis..when i got in i clam myslef and try to be alert of the questioned asked. At the end of the interview the copral told me i was in there for like only 10 minutes..10 fucking minutes yg lain had their interview for like more than 15mins..macam apa wats does dat indicate?? keep asking myslef why only me had only 10mins??? its the shortest...since on being an army officer they need to be in abit detail of choosing one thats the question always pop up in my head..Palui eh...Did i get it? Did i do good? i can't really tell...from the previous 2 big interview i know wat was expected but its different in this Final interview.....can't really tell on what is on their mind frm the body lang after their interview..

On the 23rd were gonna hv a medical test for drungs...but it doesnot mean we are accpeted already we hv to do this procedure even tough alum ada final interview results....

Ok guys this is the shcedule if i do get accepted.....
23rd August would be our Medical check for Drugs
26th August briefing for parents on what would be expected for the 6mnths basic training
29th August Would be our holding platoon...

These are the schedule so basically i only have more than one week to be a civilian..Insyallah Bye civillian life....now army life would be present...hard work dedication and full of challenge to look forward :D....

For my frends that has been there for me i will say a big thank you and appriciate of all the support that has been given to me....I wont say i will not change when im in the army..but i will dats a garuntee when u are in the army..hope i can be the same kurt as u guys wanna be b4 im in.. =D Thnks probably this is the last post for me or maybe not hehehehe...

Finally the Pre Final Interview Board has ended yesterday Monday 18th.....there were 11 of us got selected for the interview out of 23 frm the A.F.C.B. The interview was at Berakas camp...Wokeup extra early think at 5:30am kali saja to read extra knowlegde....erm i picked up Si Khai d jln Bedil b4 goin to our destination.All of them including me lah tu were nervous abt the interview the interivew in this stage is quite challenging quite diff frm interview biasa...since this interview was the reason i didn't made it in the last intake that is intake 128 where Sham Alim and JJ was there....Keep sayin to myself dun fuck this up kurt..dun fuck this up kurt..
Ah well cut to the chase..i was the last 4 person to go in for the interview..when i went in the room all 8 panel looked at me from the time i opened the door till i was standing and till sitted..As expected the 1st question was "Tell me about ur Background?"..i answered that at ease..
The 2nd question was "wats the qualities of a leadership?" i gained their attention by giving a confident answer...talk abt a leader's vision and all
Then comes with the most important question basically the mother of all question "Why you wanna join the Armed Forces?" i gave some answers but the answers that kana bang was

1. It gives financial incentives that includes pension,allowances and other financial incentives..the chairman bang! tarus police has the same incentives jua..i answer back my choice is always been the armed forces sir

.2. A Career that is worthwhile even after retirement for officer and other ranks.
Than kana tanya tia..Y u say its worthwhile? i said of being in the armed forces of an officer and other ranks the experiance gained in the armed forces is wide and after retirement u can teach other generation what u hv learnt in being the armed forces....

Then the 2nd mother of the question kira step mother lah hehehehe...."Which Armament is your choice?"Well i said LandForces...then kana bang tia lagi ..if i send you to the 3rd battalion would you want it?..
i said yes..then kana bang tia lagi abt what if i send you to the 1st battalion as an logistics officer would you want that?I said Yes...and they ask me why??.... gila eh kana bang sana sini bah...i said interms of my qualification i am pretty skilled of doin in Logistics manners..then kana bang tia lagi abt my application form of being a pay master. I didnt manage to answer that cause i tought its like balik2..

The hope i got called for the next obstacle eh!! giler...but the officers indicated a good sign that i can go forward for the next stage..

Aloo super duper Friends hehehe....erm what did i do for the weekneds ah...wahahahah..weekneds spend time wth dorg si Shan(Zeeko) and Alim....Sham called me up on friday kan hang d CZ. meet alim and Sham's Siblings..too bad C Dayat nada sal i tido hehehee....Sham bought his laptop over there banyak bah kan d download nya merepek anak atu..afta CZ went to kianggih again for a drink...setibanya saja kami tiga sekawan d sana kana tantang ani bah..damn eh i think pasal kami semua itam2 atu kali..and even ada org whispering "Boh BK BK" obvious kah itam garuntee Askar...panat eh...Well kianggih Sham and Alim filled me up with stories in the camp for that 7 weeks...honestly i didnt expect to hear loads of conflicts arah dorg ah well think thats the effect of being so stress in mind and physical..loads of work they hv done in the camp..especially not enuf sleep and some brutality hehehehe inda lagi lama im gonna experiance those sort of stuff lama jua ah September ani ah kalau bleh tah esok september ani..hehehe macam apa aku ah kana tepon pun alum for the PreFIB...must be this week kana tepon ni kalau inda think i hv to call the office for information..

Saturday nyte Alim's parents invited me to have dinner with them d Pizza hut..while we were there met C JJ..kan bali Digi Camera...hehehe then tarus tah ia dinner sama kami...heheheh atu kanyang tarus banyak wah pizza ah..but its all good...afta that went round2 d mall..atu ramai org think pasal payday week atu kali iatah ramai...atu banyak recruit jalan2 bump over loads of them d mall and even CZ.....

Later that nyte we crusing with C Zul(abg si Alim) went to pantai Jerudong nada jua ada pa pa..went to empire beach pun nada jau kan d liat..then he decide to pick his clothes up d mess pegawai Berakas camp...heheeh takut c alim tarus sal banyak pegawai sana for the Farewell dinner of Colonel Haji Awang Rahmani retirement..(Ex commanding officer of land forces)..The cali part was when kami kan balik C Alim ani bemsg bah..then me and Zul saw him tetido2 buat msg...ketawa ani bah..then when he woke up all Alim says was " Fuck man i didn't even remember what to msg" wahahahahahah panat banar C Alim.ketawa lagi kami..A yea earlier that nyte C Zul showed me he bought a new LCD screen and a 3 in 1 player that can play DVD,MP3 and VCD...whahaha kambang ia tarus...i like the LCD screen sal ia dapat d lipat...ok back to ALim te tido2 dalam keta...We decide to main Barang Strong VCD tarus tebeliak mata C Alim ani bah wahhahaha inda jadi tido..sampai ja rumah c Alim kami abis kan liat the VCD dalam keta C Zul..think spent one hour dalam keta C Zul whaaha sajuk banar bah ketanya i was shaking dalam ketanya....cali lah anak atu...

To sum up Alim and Sham sure did alot in the camp..much experiance they hv learnt in that time..damn eh i should've been with them but hey ukan rezeki ku kali..damn eh batah jua kana tepon for the next stage ani ah ..takut ku eh..hehehe...

Well i jst got back frm penanjong camp On Friday....While i was there met with all my frends in the Intake 128 Alim,Sham,JJ,Wan,Dayat but i hvnT GOT the chance to meet Zabri..hhehehe probably i did mana inda,kan sama bah usul dorg atu...Well they seem stress on the recruit training saw their smile on their faces when they saw us.....We stayed really close to the Recruit company building..saw what they did,, really a physical challenge where as for the Bakal Pegawai stress on both mental and physical training..Evey night saw them jogging plus kana punish(gulung) damn eh..the 1st time i saw that i nearly run to join them nasib kana tahan leh C Nuai...

For the activities done in the A.F.C.B...

1st would be the interview...was really concentrating on this part...kira practice for the next stage lah tu that is the Pre Final Interview Board...I did well in that interview ....at 1st they looked happy go lucky when they ask abt private question..wat i mean by private question is activities done in School and activities done outside school..but when it comes to this Question "Why You wanna Join RBAF?" WAH!!! Straight face tarus eh..but i manage to answer with full confidence and give back the straight face wahahaha...well all they do is laugh at my answer maybe dorg main psychology or being sarcastic but hey mantain ja cool when i answer their question...

Well the Physical Test...Did 40 Pushups 11 Chin ups and 46 situps 6 rounds track only manage to do 10mins 39 seconds :( really a dissapointing time for me..physical test i got most of the points...

Erm next test was Presentation...hmm the topic given to me was "Unemployment in Brunei" did an interesting presentation abt that..but my mistake was that i didnt think of what points could be questioned..damn i didnt manage to answer both question from my officers ah well antam saja tia..

Well to brief up the test was great im fully confident that i would be selected for the next stage..i better get ready for that i sense the officers are gonna give me a hard time on that Interview..wah macam Jedi Knight aku ah macam apa...

Sorry guys its been awhile aku blogging was busy of all the stuff pasal the preparation for the A.F.C.B...erm 13 days left and im still not fully ready for it..gotta keep my focus on this shit if i wanna be in...Kinda stressing but hey im up to the challenge...I met some of the newbies for intake 129 selection..its kinda different from the batch i went in for the intake 128 they are more competative and dats a good sign for me.but the bad thing is the competativeness somtimes get outa hand negative thinking comes and out frm them wen i talked to them...ah well im not gonna layan them for those sort of thinking all i want is to perform well in the AFCB and let the officers think that im good and well enough to be an officer in the armed forces..all i say is a Big "COME LAR!!!!!~~"...the past few weeks i was also busy with org kawin n dangani my brother buat his preparation for exam heeheheh.. jadi guru lah sikit..

erm i guess dats for all now lah...i might be not blogging for a while i wanna concentrate on my training and preparation...Support me guys heheheh ur support always keeps me up and i will always remember them when im in the battle of the A.F.C.B hehehehe

Officially Garduated...Count Down 35 Days till AFCB Day..

Yesterday was a blast went to ICC in the morning all of the people were glowing excited for the convocation with their robes and all...Well 2 in a half years jst a worth of piece of paper.But the experiance and things we learnt dat matters the most. Was abit bumped abt the people dat didnt made it. They all did a big part in where i am now. Indirectly people close to us teach us somthing dat we dun even realise. The great thing abt the comvo was to C up close DPM the future 5 star general of the Armed forces hehehe which i would be serving him for the next 25 years or more(Dun get any wrong ideas :P)..My parents went there to C me receving the certificate.

At night we went to JPCC to have a Convocation dinner..B4 we went there ke kadai gambar kami kajap ambik gambar.When we went there the place was packed with people jauh lagi ku parking tu.All went great lah at the dinner the food was great but some yg inda ku suka damn...$75 bucks for all that food i must say was not really worth it at all.dats the not good part lah.

Its nearly time for me to really concentrate on my training 40 days left..Erm sorry i hvn't blog for nearly a week...Was busy thinking abt the schedule for my intensive training....Looks like my hands are full inda lagi lama kan Convo which would be this Saturday..... 2molow i hv to go for the rehersal 8am in ICC heheeh bangun awal lagi ni......next week my sis willbe officially engage...sibuk lagi tu. banyak kaja....

My weekneds was alright spend time with dorg Alim and Sham...they talked loads abt the time spent in holding... much of physical and mental test for them for jst 5 days in that area..I really felt leftout damn eh shouldn't be out in that intake ah well alum ada reziki ada hikmah d sebaliknya..The things they talked abt is all i wanted...like kana bagi push ups banyak. ran one lap sprint balik2..siuk jua tu...Fit kaliah!!~ hehehee.....Starting on Thursday Night till sunday night i hvn't sleep at all..wanted to do experiment how long i can stand without sleep...Firday went jogging plus swimming weee was fun lah.....

Monday -------- Went training with Ramli and Imin...did 5 rounds the last round i sprint....then abis atu buat pushups immediately afta that but one round sprint.....damn eh i actually vomited afta that mengampai ani bah think its because the last 100 meters atu i went all out 100% berabis...hehehehe but it does feel good berabis afta a few hours....I dunno afta i did the sprinting there's a pain on my right side jst below my lungs,, ntah ah i hvnt got this pain lang b4...ah well think it would be off in a few days...

Tuesday ------- Went training d stadium tadi with Zul...When i ran i start to feel the pain again..try to ignore it tadi but it jst come..ah well tahan sampai abis one lap ja outside the stadium..Didn't went swimming tadi Zul wanted to go home early...Jogging at stadium is much more fun actually than jogging arah track..we dun feel the mentality of going back to the same place hehehe banyak kan d liat lah tu u know wat i mean kan? :P...Did some pushups and situps tadi...Talked to Zul abt wat to do for interview and the things we should remember like current issues like dat...

Since i got no training yesterday bocos of heavy rain..i did a graphic design as u can C lah from the layout...B4 that chated with Afee(Baby) and Dayat..Asked dayat a favour to help me to analyse the Strategic plan of the armed forces..Glad that he accepted the favour..need to build up some army stuff b4 AFCB starts this 20th June would help me to imrpove my confidence....I was feeling abit down last nyte...well think its bcos the tought im not in the Intake 128..ah well its my failure jua....

To move away that downess i start doing graphic design again yg d belakang atu lah...I might as well explain abit abt the graphic...actually there are 15 layers in that graphic clouds the sun the dude yg pigang the stick etc etc....the tricky part is the glowing of the sun lah took me like 3 hours to do it...i stopped at 1am to get some sleep at 3am sambung lagi buat the graphic sampai 1pm plus hehehe makan lah dulu tu...finally finished at 2pm plus baru tadi...krg im gonna hv to angkat meja and kerusi to my bakal rumah baru place ada this thing abt tanam somthing b4 we actually build the house..im abit tired but ah well tidur saja krg sekajap...NO training for 2day firday baru training hope it doesnt rain for 2molow. kalau ujan pun tunggu ja aku abis swimming heheeh Amin.......

47 Days to go till the next A.F.C.B...im fully focus on this...saw my six frends in the Papers tadi...they looked happy especially JJ and Sham.with their smiling faces on the Borneo Bulletien...Cut of that column to motivate me to trained hard not only physical also mentality.. Confidence is there i jst hv to make sure i dun loose it.....Intake 129 be ready for the next big thing in Armed forces... =D

Damn eh My training partner Nuai would be gone for 2 weeks..he's going to KL for acompany his grandma surgery..inda kan ku suruh ia inda pigi dat would be evil...Im wondering wat is Alim,Sham and JJ doing in Penanjong camp atm.. they start there Holding Platoon 2day...Hope everythings alright for them out there...well gonna be hell lang but as long they gard each otah back would be good...

Erm went jogging again tadi for 6 rounds on track stride for the last 2 rounds...hey think im getting my fitness back...i can even smile afta doing it..Well there's this dude complimenting me abt my running....gay kali pakah wahahaha... he asked me to acompany him to run 40meters for 4 times...wah laju jua ia atu....Afta that done Push up 3sets 20 times the last set well done only 14 times ngalih kaliah...afta pushups i did Situps 2sets 30 times...Siuk eh training tadi ah done alot of things....

2molow's schedule would be jst to sprint 3 rounds on the track wanna C my time in that run...would be ngalih but Fuck it im gonna do it...!!~ =D

Hmmmm wat did i do ah 2day....well bangun awal take a morning jog erm so panas eh 2day but it was all good banyak bepaluh hehehehe...Rasa jua kan fit kan badan ani ..Patang tadi liat Naruti Episode 132 and Bleach 29 wah siuk eh..Naruto kan lawan Sasuke dengan kuasa Koyoknya wahahaha...Bleach kinda abit crappy masih jua alum ada belawan *sigh*....Later in the afternoon went jogging again with Nuai d UBD complex...Ran 7 rounds again didn't take the time cos i want to take it slow lu...one step at a time but we did some pushup set...25times for 3 sets ngalih lah.My ankle is damn sakit didnt ran dat well tadi.....afta the training i educated Nuai with some army stuff a brief explaination of wat army is ja..i only tell wat i know to him. basically he took it good and finally he knows wat army is...Not a guy with weapons and code name wat so ever...Told him an Army officer is a person that leads and has a vision with dedication on the work...not always financial....

At night went to mall to meet Diana and Dayat for a drink in Weststreet Cafe...stop by to Say hai to Afee(Baby) hehehehe she was shocked wen she saw me....sengaja plang tu inda gtau.....well ada live band lah d Mall tadi and it was so crappy played some intake malaya songs...baik lang ku surah si Karau menyanyi tu (An old annoying frend masa AFCB) Oh yea i did bump into him tadi CIsssss baik lang ku surh ia nanyi tu ada jua kan ku ketawa kan.........ah well.... i felt hungry tadi so makan d mamih kiulap....pas tu aga dorg Afee and Zeerah d mall kan antar dorg balik home sian kana tinggal kan leh kawannya..so nada dangan balik..Well afta send dorg balik since nada kan d aga lagi went home...The End hehehehe...merepekness..boring jua ku dah tu nada kan d buat Blog saja tah ku heheheheheheee PACAH EH!!~

Damn eh sakit banar kaki ku....its been nearly a week now...guess the effect frm main futsal last sunday ri atu...ada kah block org shooting...atu ya bangkak...went jogging lagi yesterday atu ya kepisan..inda FIT ani bah dats the 1st time i was like kepisan belari kan muntah lagi tu...damn now i need serious training to do....last 2 days i only ran like 3 round on the track??!!!!!!~~ SASAK KU!!!~~~.... Nasib yesterday i finished 7 rounds including a 1 round sprint on the track clocked 1mon 19sec heheheeh....the 6round clocked a fucking 13mins~~~~ baie eh sasak ku.....i can do better than fucking 13mins..cana kan clock below 10mins ni in the A.F.C.B(Armed forces Commisioning Board Officer Selection) damn ok looks like more training for me this few weeks...need to go swimming oso...Maybe goin to do that next week..if im satistifed with my Jogging time...Or i can do both afta jogging taurs swimming hehehehehe... dat would be the old times wen me and Sham(Zeeko) trained for the Intake 128 Officer Selection...missed those times ada dangan training....Well krg tah lagi ku type sommore..im off to Weststreet later hv to pick up Alim if he's goin jua... I called up my Army Officer this afternoon...I found out i was the favourite candidate to proceed in the next stage of the Amry Officer..I really blew up the pre FIB interview so bad i changed the Chairman's Preception on me...ah well i guess thats the effects of being so nervous....Well im jst gonna to try the next intake for the Army Officer Selection..Back from Scratch i suppose...AFCB to Pre FIB and Final FIB interview...One motivation would be to See all of my frend that went into intake 128...Guys jst be ready for the next big thing in Recruit ......hehehehe....Im gonna stand up and do the very best NOnONoNOn NOT the very best...The best that exceed my limits.........

Target for the next AFCB test would be as follows

2.4km run = below 10mins
Pushups = Above 40 times in 1 min
Situps = Above 40 times in 1 min
Chin ups = 15-20 times

AKTA(Akal dan Tenaga) or Check point = 15 check points(Full)

Well thats the target i wanna produce in the next AFCB...would be hell but im gonna do it..looks like more training for me...

Last weekned went to Itb MRS 2005 hehehehe..basically the last time would be seeing our intake 18 2gether..Honestly atu Boring....ah well dtg saja tia asal makan ader hehehe....Went there with B.K Alim and B.K Sham.That night we made Opz pacah.. and it did really pacah wahhahahaha...Situation analysis...was Boring.Gurls Yes..erm erm and also a dumb arse look at Sofy whahahaahha malas tah ku kan ingau...Report mission completed and sucess..the only siuk part i got to meet my classmates and the lepaking group weeeee!!!~~.And also i got to See some of my lecturers too bad Rsident Evil nada our S.W.O heheheheh with her BLue contact lenses i bet banyak mangsa tu kalau ia pigi...then again if its Opz Pacah ard her think its gonna be the way around....

Erm Sorry guys i was busy training and was in Penanjong camp,didnt hv time to post some stuff at the Site...
Well A.F.C.B(Armed Forces Commisioning Board) stage is finally over..Went into camp for 6 days starting 6th till 11th March...What a great experiance over there..loads of army stuff getting me excitied to really go in the force. Ke Hutan and all and do the advanture and survival stuff is really enjoying.I really can imagine using the uniform and leading my platoon into battle of war!! heheheehe...

Well at my time in the Camp.Done all sorts of activities including Half a mile run.. and also Unofficial Mission..Frm the special Squadrant of the syndicate..Why i say its unofficial becos we found a public Enemy no1 on all of the 23people went in to the camp with us.heheheeh was so funny lah..We pun Badak at his Hair jadi dye leh kami..plus put Wintogeno at his Shoes and some "special Hair" at his Hair Gel...we laugh like shit afta doing that most of all we laugh to the max wen we C he was like so marah at the thing we did..inda plang ia tau..malas tha kami ingau mun sasak rah nya dah...well thats the intro of joining the army hehehehe....

I've been swimming everyday now and mati!! makin gelap lah aku hehehe..tapi inda apa think it pays off jua since i know how to float plus improvement on swiming this last few weeks..

I jst came back from Bolkiah Kem..Stayed there for 3 days actually nya 4 days but they cut it short..Why im there? Hv to do some medical check thingy...3 days there were like ok lah kinda bored nothing to do there most of the time.. The last nyte there i didn't sleep at all because of a piano snoring frm my frends really annoying, tebangun becos of the thunder of the snoring. Sasak ku bagi badak rah muha dorg wahahahahaha tarus riuh dorg the next day sampai ku dye putih their hair ku galar sorang sorang RAJA KAPUR wahahahahaha....

Ada lagi yang migau tu d sana wahahahah.Yang funny berabis was the guy minta tulung sampai duduk rah the katil...then in the end he said Fu*K think 3 times tought he woke up tapinya inda wahahahaha..

Ah well my next stage would be in the 7th March for 5 days in Tutong Kem..Well got to do training, swimming and all its fitness time!!!~~ weeeeee Siuk eh!!~

History Of SiLverChair!!!

Silverchair is Australia's most successful contemporary rock band. The group has had more top twenty hits during the last decade than any other local artist and they have sold over six million albums worldwide.

The members of Silverchair were all born in 1979 in the Newcastle surf suburb of Merewether. Singer/guitarist Daniel Johns and drummer Ben Gillies started making music together at primary school and schoolmate Chris Joannou later joined on bass. In the group's early days they were called Innocent Criminals and their repertoire consisted mainly of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath songs they had learned from their Dads' old record collections.

The trio played many shows around the Hunter Valley region in their early teens. They got their big break in mid-1994 when they won a national demo competition called "Pick Me" which was conducted by SBS TV show "Nomad" and youth radio station Triple J. The group's entry was a song called "Tomorrow" which quickly landed them a recording contract.
The band changed its name to Silverchair and in August 1994 they released "Tomorrow". The song eventually spent six weeks at #1 on the Australian singles charts and in 1995 it became the most played song of the year on U.S. modern rock radio.

Silverchair's debut album "frogstomp", recorded in just nine days in early 1995, was a raw sounding slab of edgy alternative rock. A #1 hit in Australia and New Zealand the disc went on to become the first Australian album since INXS to hit the U.S. top 10, selling more than 2.5 million copies throughout the world. As "frogstomp" and "Tomorrow" propelled silverchair to music superstardom through 1996 the group juggled memorable performances on the roof of Radio City Music Hall and tours with Red Hot Chili Peppers alongside full time schooling commitments back home in Newcastle.

The trio also found time that year to record their sophomore album "Freak Show" which was released early in 1997. A more adventurous piece of work than "frogstomp" this disc yielded three top ten singles in Australia - "Freak”, "Abuse Me" and "Cemetery". "Freak Show" went gold in the United States and global sales eventually exceeded 1.5 million copies in spite of the fact that the band had to juggle world tours while trying to finish their final year of high school.
After finally graduating from school the band were able to spend much more time creating their critically lauded breakthrough, "Neon Ballroom" which was released in March 1999. The group’s songwriter, Daniel Johns had been battling personal demons as he attempted to adjust to Silverchair’s sudden success and he poured these experiences into his new batch of songs. Determined to shake the constant musical comparisons which had previously dogged his band Johns created a truly original sounding album. Fusing heavy rock with orchestral flourishes and synthetic touches with powerfully emotional lyrics, "Neon Ballroom" was universally acclaimed as a huge creative leap for Johns and his bandmates.

Silverchair toured extensively in support of the album propelling it to even stronger worldwide sales than they had achieved with "Freak Show". In Europe and South America it became the group’s most successful album to date due to the Comet Award winning "Ana’s Song" - a track about Daniel Johns' battles with an eating disorder. Elsewhere, distinctive tracks like "Emotion Sickness" and the aching "Miss You Love" established once and for all that this young group is not just a fad; they are genuinely talented musicians who are here to stay.

The band toured Europe and the U.S. throughout 1999 including appearances on leading festivals such as Reading and Bizarrefest and tours with bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Blink 182. After all this touring the band announced that they would be taking a 12 month break to recharge their batteries.

Having fulfilled their three album deal with Sony Music Australia the group was pursued by labels for much of this year off. At the end of 2000 they announced that they had signed new recording agreements with Atlantic Records for North and South America and their own indie label, Eleven: a music company in Australasia and Asia. As a result of these new deals their former label rush released a compilation album without the band’s involvement.

Silverchair's one and only gig in 2000 was a sold out appearance at Australia's Falls Festival on New Years Eve. It was followed on January 21, 2001 by the biggest show of their lives - 250,000 people at Rock In Rio - a performance which the band describe as the highlight of their career to date.

In June 2001 the band entered a studio in Sydney with producer David Bottrill (Tool, Peter Gabriel, King Crimson) to start work on their fourth album, "Diorama". This time Daniel Johns formally assumed the role of co-Producer and set out to explore even more new musical territory.

A range of other musicians were drawn in to contribute to the disc, most notably the legendary Beach Boys and U2 collaborator, Van Dyke Parks who contributed orchestral arrangements to three tracks including a lush epic called "Luv Your Life". Also helping out again were "Neon Ballroom" sidemen, Paul Mac and Jim Moginie.

Silverchair fans got their first taste of "Diorama" when a single called "The Greatest View" was released in Australia in January 2002 to coincide with the band’s appearance on the Big Day Out Tour. The track displayed a fresh new sound showing yet another creative leap for the band – now rock veterans at the age of 22!

The enhanced melodic sensibility and newfound vocal confidence of "The Greatest View" attracted unprecedented radio support in Australia on all formats and drove the single to #1 on the alternative charts and #3 on the mainstream singles chart.

Diorama means "a world within a world". It’s a particularly apt name for Silverchair's new CD as this evocative piece of work lifts you out of the everyday and carries you into a world of its own.
“No matter what people have got going on in their lives, hopefully when they play this album it will make them forget about everyday stuff. When music does that it’s magical and, for me, that’s what "Diorama" is about", says Silverchair's Daniel Johns.

The album sees the Newcastle trio embracing melody and combining it with lyrics that are brighter than most of their previous works. It’s a huge creative leap which also sees them exploring a vast array of instrumentation and musical styles.

The resulting piece of work literally covers the whole musical spectrum - as its colourful cover suggest. It moves from edgy rockers "The Lever" and "One Way Mule" to sweeter tunes such as "After All These Years" and "World Upon Your Shoulders". There are also irresistible melodic rock songs like "Without You" and the fantasia-esque epics "Across The Night" and "Tuna In The Brine". It’s a technicolour collage that’s innovative and memorable.
According to Rolling Stone magazine in it’s four and a half star review, the album is “one of the boldest musical statements ever made by an Australian rock band".

"Diorama" entered the Australian charts at #1 in April and has gone on to sell over 140,000 copies (double platinum) in this country so far. It has also yielded the top 10 single "Without You" and the top 20 hit "Luv Your Life".

The album’s international performance has unfortunately been severely affected by the band’s inability to tour or do promotional appearances due to Daniel Johns’ ill health. The singer/guitarist has spent 2002 battling a severely debilitating case of reactive arthritis from which he is now recovering. Nevertheless, even without any of the usual promotional support the album has reached #12 in Germany and the top 40 of numerous other countries including Holland, Sweden and Brazil. However, the group’s inability to tour in support of the release still made 2002 a very frustrating year.

This all began to change in October 2002 when the band’s work on "Diorama" won them six ARIA Awards including "Best Group" and "Best Rock Album". In a last minute surprise the trio returned to the stage to deliver a searing performance of "The Greatest View" which catapulted their album back into the national top 20. The ARIA triumph capped a roller coaster year for the band - a year which in many ways traced the journey of "Diorama" itself - from bleak times into a much happier new dawn.

"Our other albums have all been pretty black", explains Daniel Johns when asked to summarize the new album."This time around I wanted to try painting with lots of colours".

Chloe leaves a taped message in case of her death to Clark . . . but her cousin Lois Lane gets hold of it. Traveling into Smallville, a lightning strike drives her vehicle off the road and she ends up in a corn field where a naked Clark materializes. He doesn't know his name and seems out of it. In Egypt, workers discover a statue of Ra in a pyramid and Lex arrives to take it.

Lois takes Clark to the hospital while Lana is in Paris taking photos when she runs into a fellow American who turns out to be her boyfriend. Martha reads to a comatose Jonathan and refuses to pull the plug on him despite the fact he's brain-dead and their insurance is running out. Back in Smallville, Clark leaves despite Lois' best efforts, insisting he shouldn't be there. Martha spots him as he departs but he doesn't recognize her either. She convinces him to go with her by helping him with the "sign" he's looking for. In Egypt, a weakened Lex has everything in the pyramid buried before departing. When he gets back to the plane where it is revealed he has to have his blood purified every 24 hours or he dies from the poison he was given previously. When the plane hits turbulence Lex drops the statue and they find a crystal within. It glows when he touches it and in Smallville, Clark senses it, announces himself as Kal-El of Krypton, and flies off into the air.

In Paris, Lana and her boyfriend Jason Teague are kissing and then she does a rubbing from a church and uncovers a figure that unleashes a burst of light. Martha tries to get hold of Dr. Swann when Lois meets with her to talk with Clark – with Chloe's death, Lionel is going to go free. Clark closes on Lex's plane and enters it, grabbing the crystal and leaving before Lex can see him.

At the barn, Martha is confronted by Bridgette Crosby, Dr. Swann's "assistant." She convinces Martha to let her help but can't do much – the symbol burned into the cornfield three months earlier was the Kryptonian symbol for "Crusade." She advises Martha to face Clark and provides a chunk of "black kryptonite" to cure him. At the penitentiary, Lex visits Lionel and discuss the company's waning fortunes. Lionel denies any knowledge of the attack on the jet and Lex talks about how he is seeking for three ancient relics that will unleash a great treasure . . . which Lionel financed when he was free in an attempt to save his life. Lionel denies everything and Lex reveals how he survived the poison . . . which would kill an ordinary man.

Clark returns to the Indian cave and opens a doorway into a secret room. He places the crystal into a pedestal . . . which triggers some kind of vision in Lana in her apartment in Paris. She answers a loud knock on the door by Jason. She doesn't remember how she got to the apartment. Clark emerges from the chamber where Martha is waiting for him and touches him with the black kryptonite. Clark goes through a set of seizures and personality manifestations and seems to fight his Kryptonian Kal personality. Martha tosses Clark the black-k which he uses to defeat "Kal," and Jonathan wakes up in the hospital.

The Kents are reunited while Lana takes a shower and discovers a strange tattoo on her back. Lois pays Lionel a visit in jail and doesn't seem to believe he was responsible . . . but gets him thinking about who was, and what they may be planning. Lois visits Chloe's grave and vows to avenger her – Clark is also there and offers to help, as well as a place to stay. Clark x-rays Chloe's grave and sees that the coffin is empty – Chloe is still alive!
